Register

Join us for three days of French Classical Dressage with Mestre Dominique Barbier, a student of the legendary Nuno Oliveira and author of Dressage for the New Age, Meditation for Two, The Alchemy of Lightness, and Riding with Oliveira. Throughout the weekend the EquiPhysics team gives live demonstrations of the science behind how horses move, breathe, and perform.

  • Dates: Fri–Sun, December 18–20, 2026

  • Venue: Rancho del Nido — 16701 E Yucca Ash Farm Road, Sonoita, Arizona

  • Audience: Riders, trainers, auditors, students

  • Host: EquiPhysics

Fees & Registration

Riders

  • $200 per ride. Each ride is a private 30-minute session with Dominique: lunging and in-hand work first, then ridden work. Dominique may ride your horse during a session if it will help.

  • We recommend two rides per day for all three days (six rides, $1,200). The work builds from day to day, and riders who commit to all three days get priority.

  • Riding spots are limited. Stabling and trailer-in details to come.

Auditors

  • Audit passes by the day or for all three days. Pricing will be posted here soon.

  • Auditors are welcome at every session and at the EquiPhysics demonstrations. Bring a chair and dress for December weather in Sonoita.

Register

  • Click Register to reserve a spot. Invoices follow by email.

  • Early registration is encouraged. Riding spots go first.

About Dominique Barbier

Dominique Barbier is one of the leading figures in classical dressage and an exponent of the French-Portuguese school. He based himself in Portugal for two years to study with the legendary Mestre Nuno Oliveira, the experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to keeping a horse “light and happy.”

Since moving to the United States, Dominique’s teaching has reached thousands of riders across the country and in Europe, North Africa, Asia, and Brazil. He is the author of Dressage for the New Age, Meditation for Two (with Keron Psillas), The Alchemy of Lightness (with Dr. Maria Katsamanis), and Riding with Oliveira.

Dominique has taught several clinics with our group in Southern Arizona since 2023, at Kiva Ranch and the Al-Marah Equine Center, where EquiPhysics measured gait, breathing, and heart rate during the lessons. This December he comes to Rancho del Nido, the home of EquiPhysics, for three days of lessons alongside live demonstrations of what those measurements show.
