Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2026

Who we are

Equiphysics Institute (EquiPhysics) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at Rancho del Nido, 16701 E Yucca Ash Farm Road, Sonoita, AZ 85637. This policy covers equiphysics.org. Questions? Email laura_miller@equiphysics.org.

What we collect and why

We collect two kinds of information: what you choose to send us, and basic visit data from our website host.

The Contact and Our Story forms ask for your name, email, and a message. The Volunteer form also asks for an optional phone number, how you would like to help, how many hours a week you can give, and how you heard about us. We use this to answer you and to plan volunteer work.

Squarespace sends your message to us. Donations and email sign-ups are covered below.

Donations

Gifts on our Donate page go through Squarespace Payments, which runs on Stripe. You enter your card in their checkout. We never see or store your full card number. We do see your name, email, billing details, and gift amount. We use them to send receipts, keep tax records, and thank you. To change or cancel a recurring gift, email us.

Email updates and how to unsubscribe

The Our Story form, the Volunteer form, and the donation checkout each have a box to sign up for news and updates. The Contact form does not. If you check the box, we add your email to our mailing list in Squarespace. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will take you off the list.

Cookies and analytics

Squarespace hosts our site. It uses a few cookies to make the site work, keep it secure, and run checkout. Its built-in analytics count visits and pages viewed. We do not use advertising cookies, Google Analytics, or the Facebook pixel.

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. The donation checkout uses Stripe, which may set cookies to prevent fraud. Our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn icons are plain links. Nothing from those sites loads on our pages.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Checkout may not work without them.

Our free apps at equiphysics.github.io are hosted by GitHub. They run in your browser and send us nothing.

Who we share with

We share information only with the service providers that run our site, forms, email, and payments. These are Squarespace, Stripe, and Google (for reCAPTCHA). Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy. We will also share information if the law requires it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Children

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this site. If a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep messages and volunteer details as long as we need them to work with you. We keep donation records as long as tax and accounting rules require.

To see, correct, or delete your information, email laura_miller@equiphysics.org. We may need to keep some donation records for tax purposes.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
